Class 7 (Learner’s License preparation)

We only offer the Class 7 (Learner’s license) when we have enough demand for it. We spend 15 hours of classroom preparation for it. Upon successful completion, students go to the Registry to take the learner’s test.

Class 5 Driver Training

Basic Package

Recommended if you have some driving experience or you have a Dominant personality style.

• 15 hours of classroom, in-class or online
• 10 hours of in-car instruction

Fee: The fee varies for St. Paul, Elk Point, Vermilion, Vegreville, Wainwright, Provost, Sedgewick, Killam and Coronation.
Test Market tends to be lower in Stettler, Lacombe, Ponoka, Blackfalds and Red Deer for a limited time only.

Premium Package

Recommended if you want to be more confident as a driver or you have an Inspiring or a Cautious personality style.

• 15 hours of classroom, in-class or online
• 14 hours of in-car instruction

Fee: The fee varies for St. Paul, Elk Point, Vermilion, Vegreville, Wainwright, Provost, Sedgewick, Killam and Coronation.
Test Market tends to be lower in Stettler, Lacombe, Ponoka, Blackfalds and Red Deer for a limited time only.

Ultimate Package

Recommended if you have no driving experience or you have a Supportive or a Cautious personality style.

• 15 hours of classroom, in-class or online
• 20 hours or more of in-car instruction

Fee: The fee varies for St. Paul, Elk Point, Vermilion, Vegreville, Wainwright, Provost, Sedgewick, Killam and Coronation.
Test Market tends to be lower in Stettler, Lacombe, Ponoka, Blackfalds and Red Deer for a limited time only.

Brush up lessons

This is for any driver who wants to improve their driving skills. Most students do 1 or 2 driving sessions of 2 hours per session before they go for the road test.

Fee: The fee varies for St. Paul, Elk Point, Vermilion, Vegreville, Wainwright, Provost, Sedgewick, Killam and Coronation.

Online classroom

Saint Paul Driving School partners with 2 other driving schools in Alberta in order to offer the online classroom to students who either live in rural areas or are not able to wait for the next available face to face classroom with an instructor.
Fee: $150 (GST included)

Road Test Car Rentals

1. Check for rate and availability in advance. At times, we can provide one complementary (free) use of car for some students. Ask our Personal Assistant for details at 403-741-9075.
   
2. Car available to all students. However, non-Saint Paul Driving School students must drive two (2) hours before they book their road test plus pay additional two (2) hours for use of the vehicle for the road test (1hour for brush up and 1 hour for use of car for the road test).
   
3. No Saturday availability – We are off. No Exceptions.
   
4. Because of unexpected mechanical issues, we may have to provide you with an alternate vehicle.

Note: We do every thing we can to guarantee our vehicles are road worthy, however, if the lights quit working, we will not refund the fee paid too the Registry for the driver’s test.

Class 5 Instructor Training

Professional Development for Driving Instructors

On top of being a Licensed Driving Instructor, our Senior Instructor is also an Alberta trained and certified school teacher and a DISC personality style trainer.

During our professional development designed for driving instructors, our Senior Instructor will introduce 4 main personality types plus some personality blends you will encounter when you provide driver training to different people from different nationalities and different level of education and background.
Once you are aware of personality insights, you will begin to approach your work life and your personal life in a whole new way and you will also view the world around you through a new set of lenses.

Fee: $250 (GST included) At this time, we only accept 20 driving instructors per class. The fee may change without notice.

At this time, Saint Paul Driving School recruits and trains only qualified candidates who have the best chance to pass all tests required by Alberta Transportation in order to become a Class 5 Driving Instructor. Once candidates obtain their instructor’s license, we can hire them as an employee or they work with our driver training school on a contractual basis.
